QR Code Generator
Create static QR codes for links, text, Wi-Fi, and contacts. Free PNG and SVG downloads.
Static QR codes encode this content directly. Anyone who scans a Wi-Fi code can read its network credentials. Content is not saved between visits.
Choose a content type and generate a code. Its preview and downloads appear here.
How to create a QR code
- Choose a website link, plain text, Wi-Fi network, or contact card.
- Enter the content you want the code to contain.
- Select Generate QR code.
- Scan the preview with a phone and download PNG or SVG.
A website-link example
Enter a complete link, including its protocol:
https://example.com/menuThe QR code contains that link directly. When scanned, a compatible reader can open the website. The tool does not shorten the URL or route the scan through Odelvo.
Wi-Fi and contact codes
A Wi-Fi code contains the network name, security type, and optional password. A compatible phone can use those details to join the network. A contact code uses a vCard with the name and optional phone number and email address. Import behavior depends on the scanner and phone.
Static QR codes and expiry
The QR image itself has no built-in expiry. A website code remains useful only while its encoded destination works. Updating the destination URL requires a new code; this tool does not offer dynamic redirects or scan analytics.
Print quality and scanning
The output uses a dark code on white with a four-module quiet border and medium error correction. PNG downloads are 768 pixels wide, while SVG is scalable. Keep the border, avoid stretching the code, and test it at the size and lighting in which people will scan it. Longer content creates denser codes.
Limits and privacy
The content limit is 1,800 UTF-8 bytes; characters such as emoji can use more than one byte. Shorter links and text are easier to scan. Generation runs in your browser without an external processing API. Content is not saved between visits, and anyone who scans the code can read what it contains.
Frequently asked questions
- Are these QR codes free and static?
- Yes. This tool encodes your content directly into a static QR code. Odelvo does not add a redirect, expiry date, scan quota, or watermark.
- Can I change a website link after downloading the code?
- The encoded link is fixed. Generate a new code to change it, or manage the destination at the URL you originally encoded. This tool does not provide dynamic QR redirects.
- Does the QR code require an internet connection?
- Reading the encoded content does not require an Odelvo connection. Opening a website link generally requires internet access, and a Wi-Fi QR code depends on the network being available.
- Should I download PNG or SVG?
- PNG is convenient for everyday sharing. SVG stays sharp when scaled, which is useful for printing. Keep the white border and test the final printed size.
- Does Odelvo store my QR content?
- This tool generates the code locally and does not save the content between visits. Wi-Fi passwords and contact details are readable by anyone who scans the resulting code.
